Our 1000D Nylon Explained

Our 1000D Nylon Explained

May 11, 2021Stefan Gehrig

Since King Kong's inception we have been using the same fabric to make our bags. This fabric is our key ingredient, but not one we want to keep secret from you! The 1000D Nylon material we use to construct our bags is what makes us who we are... tough, durable and flexible.

WHAT MAKES 1000D NYLON SUCH A GREAT MATERIAL?

This woven fabric is special. It's tough, lightweight, flexible, abrasion resistant, and easy to care for. We use only the most durable nylon that can stand up to the test of time. Extensively tested, our bags can be packed to the max without over-stretching or ripping.

Our PLUS, EDGE and ZONE Collections feature 1000D Nylon material.

IT'S NOT THE MOST POPULAR THAT MATTERS

If you pay attention to the materials specs of other bags you'll notice that 600D Polyester is the most popular fabric. However, our bags are not your average bag! We don't follow the status quo and we don't aspire for popularity.

So why is 600D Polyester more popular? The answer is very straight forward. It's more cost effective than 1000D Nylon. If you're working within a tighter budget, don't mind a rougher texture or are seeking a light weight bag, a top-quality 600D Poly is a good alternative. If that fits your criteria, our CORE Collection is your best match.

OUR BAGS STAND UP TO THE TEST OF TIME

Simply put, our bags will withstand even the toughest of lifestyles. Tough materials combined with premium construction and extensive testing make our bags the best in the game.
