1. MAKE A PUBLIC COMMITMENT

We aren't united by having the same goals, but the journeys we take to achieve them together. Sharing your goals with others not only helps you stay accountable but also empowers you to keep pushing.

2. SMALL ACTIONS EVERY DAY

Break down your big goals into smaller daily habits or "mini goals". Daily habits like packing your bag ahead of each day will help you transform intention into action. Before you pack your bag take a moment to reflect on the question "what do I want to achieve tomorrow?" and pack your bag in accordance with your daily goal.

 

3. KEEP YOUR MIND FOCUSED

Your mind is a muscle. Sticking to your goals requires overall focus. Enhance your mind power through regular meditation, prioritizing better sleep, exercising and getting outdoors. Research and trail what works best for you. 

4. ENGAGE WITH LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE

No surprises here.... we are social creatures who find motivation from others. Since we tend to model the behaviour of people we surround ourselves with, it's important to connect with people who reinforce the good habits we are establishing. Find a group of people who share your interests in-person or online (Facebook groups are always a good place to start).

5. ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS

Identify any barriers, then reduce or eliminate them. For example, if your phone is preventing you from working on your goals, set a daily screen-time limit. This future-proofs your progress for the times you might give into these external distractions.

6. MAKE THE PROCESS ENJOYABLE

Most importantly, have fun and get excited about working towards your goals! The goals you set are not a burden or restriction. They are an opportunity to improve and accomplish.
